The Optolux® network topology operates on a ring configuration rather than a star network. The POF cable and network components establish a loop (or ring) to connect the active network components. This stands in contrast to traditional UTP star networks where each Ethernet outlet requires a separate cable running from the main equipment room. Optolux® presents numerous advantages, including a substantial reduction in necessary cables (promoting sustainability and labor efficiency) and ensuring redundancy for all network connections (enhancing uptime). Of course, Optolux® can also be implemented in the traditional star topology if needed.
